Highbury Top International Peeball Poll |
|

|
Highbury Hosers have finally topped the CNN writers’ Peeball poll following their record 20 match unbeaten run. The poll, which asks Peeball writers around the world to nominate their top five club sides, has now been in existence for over five years and is supported by the independent magazine, World Peeball.
Highbury (dominant in the English Peeball Premiership with world-class players such as Thierry Henwee, Dennis Furpants, David Peeman, Robert Wizzes and Kanpoo) are only the second English club to top the list, Manchester Urinated enjoying three months on top in 1999.
Manager Arsen Blender was delighted by the international seal of approval, but in his typically understated manner downplayed its importance in his team’s current quest for trophies.
“It is important we don’t let this sort of praise go to our head,” said the softly spoken Frenchman. “Still, it is always pleasant to be recognised as the best which, after all, is what we are striving towards. I’d like to comment on the rest of the poll but, unfortunately, I didn’t see it”.
The new poll reads as follows
1. Highbury (England)
2. Ideal Standard Madrid (Spain)
3. Looventus (Italy)
4. IP Milan (Italy)
5. Sprayen Munich (Germany)
6. Slashco de Gama (Brazil)
7. Deportweevo La Coruna (Spain)
8. Manchester Urinated (England)
9. Portalo (Portugal)
10. Galatasaslasherey (Turkey)
Others receiving votes: Liverpool WC, Boga Juniors, River Plate, Spurting Lisbon, Feyenpoured, Slashzio.
Highbury’s traditional rival, Tottering Hotspurts, did not feature in the poll. Manager Glenn Widdle was unavailable for comment.
