Nordic Peeballers Suffer Cold Snap Back
Competitors at Norway's unofficial cross-country Peeball finals felt the brunt of an unexpected cold snap as 30 of the 56 competitors faced medical treatment following the tournament, the majority for frostbite to their extremities.

Nordic Peeball, which involves cross-country skiing with power pees every half-mile, remains unrecognised by the International Peeball Federation (IPF), with this year's injuries, many serious, making future accreditation unlikely. Tore Erlaandsen, organiser of the Nordic Peeball finals explained,

"Unfortunately, the weather was unseasonably cold for March, so competitors had trouble negotiating what were often difficult conditions. The combination of exposure and frozen peeballs that wouldn't dissolve led to substantial cases of frostbite. Of course, it's very hard for players to release themselves from the ski suit and this also led to some injuries".

Dr. Marianne Flo of Oslo Infirmary was less philosophical.

"Quite frankly," she stated, "Peeball and skiing weren't meant to be combined. A couple of competitors have had to have their penises amputated. I don't believe that's a laughing matter." An opinion shared by the IPF.

Erlaandsen was unsure if the event would take place next year at the time of writing,

"We'll see how many people are interested in participating before we definitely postpone the event".
